Magazines are designed to pull your attention. That’s why most magazines use bold big and bright  lettering as well as celebrities on the cover page. Lots of the magazines I looked at did this. Magazines also have targe t audiences, for example some magazines target women and others target men.  My initial impressions of these magazines were expected, they all had different  group  of contents and lettering and mostly all went along with the  topic or focus of the magazine.  Each image on the cover pages had significant impacts and really showed you the purpose or themes of the magazines. Also, each magazine targeted a different audience , some towards men, women, African Americans, Moms, and people who like fashion. My current  position on selecting a magazine did increase because I do like the themes and the idea of how the cover photo and fonts can target different audiences.   One of the first magazines I viewed was “O” (Oprah’s magazine)....

Opening sequences are meant to interest and capture the audience and foreshadow of what is to happen in the movie. They are also used to describe the plot and characters. This is my imp ression of the impact these opening sequences films and roles these scenes play to develop these different aspects .   The first opening scene I viewed was of the  “ Space Odyssey ”.  It starts out with a completely black screen and almost spacey/suspen seful music, giving the feeling of curiosity. Then t he music starts to get louder and louder giving the impression that the visuals will start but it doesn’t ,  making  you want to see it more. Then the music initiates the picture with a loud part in the song, and it is a picture of space. The music was perfect for this opening because it sounded like space music and gave  the idea of the emptiness and unknown idea of space.
