Post-Production 2- Fonts

After I made the changes to my magazines from some suggestions from my peers, we looked over our magazines and made sure everything was correct. We added a few more details to our magazines including a little initial at the end of our feature article of the masthead and made sure we chose the fonts we wanted. Personally, I love how my magazine turned out and how well it correlates with my sister's magazine. I believe we did well directing the magazine towards our target audience and created a fun but professional look.

Post-Production 1- Content page and Feature Article

After I presented my magazine and got some helpful critiques from my peers, I made some changes to my magazine. One of the critiques I got was for my content page, I carried the masthead over to the top left side of the content page and there were some comments that it was difficult to see. To fix this, I created a shadow around the words by pasting the title on top of itself a few times, and it is now much easier to see. Another change I made was in the feature article, I received comments about there being too much space around the text. Someone suggested that I add a border around my feature article to add some detail and remove some of the extra space. I created a thin grey/black border around my feature article and tried to align my text better on the page. Some ideas given to me by my classmates however, I did not use to change my magazine, although I appreciated all the comments and critiques I got, and they helped improve my magazine.

Peer Review

When I presented my magazine to the class with my sister Claire, they all really liked it. They commented on how well correlated our magazines were together. Specifically, they liked the pictures, especially on the content page. They liked the canal route I put in the background of my contents page and same with Claire's subway route. Some critiques were that the feature article was hard to follow, meaning the way I split up the text so a peer suggested that I make the text go horizontally so that it would be read left to right. However, I believe if I were to do this it would look more like an essay than a magazine article, so I have decided not to change the direction and format of the text, but I did re-align the text more. Also, some suggested a black border around the feature article, so I did do that, and I like how it looks, it added some detail. My peers also liked the use of the red and black font as well as carrying over the title to the content page. The changes I'...

Post-Production 3- Feature Article

When we finished editing the content page, we moved on the feature article. We did not have much going on with first page of the feature article so we both added a grey line underlining the title of the feature article and cutting off the picture so that it would nicely divide the picture, title, and article. We also made some of our pictures brighter and added some captions underneath the pictures as well. We realigned our text the best we could to try take up some of the extra space. We made sure all the grammar and spelling  was  correct and that was the first draft of the magazines.

Post-Production 2- Details on Content Page

After I  pretty much finished  the  initial  draft of my magazine, I went over it with my sister to make sure we added everything we wanted too. We also wanted to make sure they were similar and had enough detail. So, we looked them over and decided to add a background to each of our content pages. Since I  did Italy I  choose a picture I  had taken of a map of the canals in Italy since I  Talked about gondolas in the feature article. Claire did London so she chose a picture of a map she took of the subways that go throughout London. We faded the pictures out in the background behind the pictures and writing on our content page and faded them enough so that you  could  see it and still see the writing clearly on the content page.  I believe this  added some  much-needed  detail to our content page.
